For farmers
A fair price for every nut
Before Blue Pearl, many farmers sold through brokers at distressed prices, and smaller nuts were rejected outright. We pay fair, transparent prices, buy every nut 16mm and above, and record each purchase with digital traceability. Farmers also receive training, extension support and collection from the farm.
For communities
Jobs for women and young people
We employ 10 people directly and support 105 indirect jobs, with a focus on women and youth. We have the potential to employ 100 people directly as we grow.
For the environment
From waste stream to soil health
- Soil restoration: biochar as a substitute for synthetic lime and fertiliser on acidic soils
- Carbon sequestration through our carbon-credit programme
- Waste diverted: macadamia shells turned into biomass fuel instead of informal disposal
